Frank Iacobucci (Johnian) has been appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada. This is the 40th anniversary of the Order of Canada and "Companion" is the most senior of the three levels. Frank Iacobucci is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and was a speaker at our last Annual Boat Race Dinner.

 

Julia Henderson has been accepted into a specialized program at Columbia University in NY starting late August-July 2007.  Julia was going to lead the Cambridge contribution to the Toronto Boat Race, but will be cheering from New York.  Congratulations, Julia.  (FYI Judy Sutcliffe has taken over this role)

 

Carolyn Szmidt will be out of the City for most of the coming year doing post-doctoral archeological research into early man.  She will be based in the south of France.  Tough luck, Carolyn.
