Service of Nine Lessons and Carols

The Nativity by F. H. Varley,

part of the murals at St Anne’s Gladstone

A group of Cantabrigians and their friends have been going to the traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at St. Anne’s Gladstone for the past few years.  Until recently, the Incumbent was Rev. Peter Orme, Sydney Sussex, a fine organist in his own right.  His replacement, Father Phil Cooper, is continuing the tradition, together with the resident organist, John Stephenson and we  will again be going as a group to join in the singing of the traditional Carols.  Close your eyes for a moment if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful murals painted by the group of Seven and listen to the choir. You could be standing again in Kings College Chapel.

St. Anne’s is located at 270 Gladstone Ave. close to Dundas and Dufferin.

The service starts at 4.00 p.m. and this year will be on December 16th, 2007.

After the service, we gather at the home of one of the graduates to continue the spirit of the season
and enjoy an informal meal together.

O come all ye faithful, Cantabrigian and triumphant…..
